James Henry Nichols, 70, former resident of the Hazel Valley community, died Saturday in Lincoln, Neb., where he had lived for the past 11 years. He was a farmer and a carpenter, and was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Mary Osburn, of the home in Lincoln, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Layman and Miss Ruth Nichols, both of Lincoln; five sons, Ruel, Dee, Arlis and Gene, all of Lincoln, Neb., and Mack of Gainesville, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Wilson of Alton, Ill., Mrs. Geneva Peters of Alamogordo, N.M., Mrs. Georgia Dunaway of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Josie Dennis of Hazel Valley; three brothers, J.C. Nichols of Fayetteville, Miles Nichols of Hazel valley, and Gill Nichols of Gale, Okla.; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m., in the Nichols Memorial Church by the Rev. Chester Nichols of Tulsa and the Rev. Howard Pritchard of Fayetteville. Burial will be in Nichols cemetery with arrangements in charge of Nelson's Funeral Home.

Funeral services for James Henry Nickell, former resident of Hazel Valley community, who died Saturday in Lincoln, Neb., were conducted this afternoon at 2 p.m., at the Nickell Memorial Church near Durham. Burial was in the Nickell cemetery under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martha Mae Nickell, 79, a resident of Lincoln, Neb. died Aug. 19 in Lincoln following an extended illness. She is survived by four sons, Ruel, Arlis and Gene, all of Lincoln and Mack of Washington State; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Laymen and Miss Ruth Nickell both of Lincoln; two brothers, John Osburn of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Clifford Osburn of Tulsa; one sister, Mrs. Anna Devore of Winslow; eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Nickell Memorial Chapel. Burial in Nickell Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
