J. C. Nickell, 83, died Tuesday at his home in Fayetteville. Born Jan. 18, 1886 at Hazel Valley, the son of the Rev. Andy T. and China Nickell, he was a Methodist.
Survivors are three sons, Buron, Dwight and J. C. Jr., all of Fayetteville; two daughters, Mrs. Hoy Riggens of Republic, Mo. and Mrs. Larry Friend of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Peters of Alamogordo, N. M., and Mrs. Georgia Dunaway of Fayetteville, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moore's Chapel with burial in Nickell Cemetery.

Mrs. J. C. Nickell Sr., 83, died Sunday at her home at 110 W. 7th St. She was born April 12, 1883 at Rudy the daughter of Robert and Lela Jane Coatney Coleman.
Survivors are the husband of the home; three sons, Buron, Dwight and J. C. Jr. all of Fayetteville; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Riggins of Lancaster, Calif. and Mrs. Effie Friend of Tulsa, Okla.; slx brothers, Alex Coleman of Del Ray, Calif., P. B. Coleman of Rudy, Raymond Coleman of Philadelphia, Pa., Jewel Coleman of McAlester, Okla., Guy Coleman of El Reno, Okla., and Amos Coleman of Fayetteville; four sisters, Mrs. Hearl Hufstedler of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Robbie Selle and Mrs. Edith Olivera of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Leta Davis of Cave Springs and her step-mother, Mrs. Polly Coleman of Fayetteville, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nickell Chapel with burial in the Nickell Cemetery under direction of Moore's Chapel.
