Monday, October 17, 1977
Tolbert A. Griggs, 85, Springdale, died Oct. 15 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 5, 1892, in Elm Springs, he was the son of Robert and Cynthia Downum Griggs, member of First United Methodist Church and retired grocery store operator.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nora Patton Griggs of the home; two sons, Harold Griggs, Springdale, and Carl Griggs, Rialto, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Phoebe Robertson, Ontario, Calif., Mrs. Eva Holland, Upland, Calif., Mrs. Maye Bell, Springdale, and Mrs. LaVerne Leach, Owassa, Okla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sisco Chapel, with Rev. Jim Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sisco.
Pallbearers will be Jim Craig, Teddy Downum, Bennie Howell, Coy O'Neal, Clifford Shepherd and Douglas Short.
