BRYANT, Ben F. - Ben F. Bryant, a well known business man of Rogers, died suddenly while sitting in a chair at his home late Saturday afternoon. Heart trouble is said to have caused his death. He had been in ill health for the past four months. He was 66 years of age. Funeral services, conducted by his former pastor, Rev. J.A. Womack of Van Buren, were held at the Central M.E. Church Monday afternoon with burial in the Rogers cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. The I.O.O.F. lodge conducted the services at the grave. Mr. Bryant was born in Pike County in 1865, his parents later moving to Eureka Springs and then to Rogers in 1880. He was associated with his brother, John W. Bryant, in the hardware and undertaking business for several years. He later opened an insurance and real estate business which he carried on until his recent illness. He also had been connected with the American National Bank for 15 years and until he resigned a short time ago was president of that institution. Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith and Mrs. Ethel Brown of Rogers and by three brothers, J.W. Bryant of Rogers, Jack Bryant of California and Owen Bryant of Seattle; also by three sisters: Mrs. Anna Jackson of Neosho; Miss Dora Bryant of Seattle and Mrs. Carrie Jensen of Dallas.
