liam George Swilley, 73, Rt. 1, died Saturday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Aug. 7, 1896, he was the son of George L. and Janie Rowland Swilley. He was a member of the Caledonia Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Chesta McKinnon Swilley, El Dorado; a son, W. G. (Pete) Swilley, El Dorado, three daughters, Mrs. Earl Hall, Junction City, Mrs. Paul West, and Mrs. Lloyd Franques, both of El Dorado; a brother, Arthur Swilley, Smackover; two sisters, Mrs. Olivia Robbins, Grand Prairie, Tex., and Mrs. Nettie Ward, Mamou, La.; and twelve grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Caledonia Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. John E. Hargett and the Rev. Hugh Nelson officiated. Burial followed in the Caledonia Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers were Harold Ottwell, Jim Tibbitt, Johnny Telford, Bennett Evis, Joe P. Kinard and Clyde Jeffcoats.
