April 5, 1909 - September 12, 1964
Miss Bertie Lee Swilley, 55, of 611 N. Jefferson Ave., died in a local hospital Saturday morning. She was born April 5, 1909 in El Dorado, the daughter of John C. and Artie Lee Tullis. Miss Swilley was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include six sisters; Mrs. Ela Ogden of Le Compte, La., Mrs. Eunice Trevathan of Tacoima, Calif., Mrs. Edna Huddletson of Hot Springs, Juanita Best of El Dorado, Mrs. Jessie Corinne Posey of Haynesville, La., and Mrs. Inez Francis of Arkadelphia, and one brother, Loy Swilley of El Dorado. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Pratt Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Don Harbuck officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be nephews, John Thomas Francis, William Richard Francis, Vernon Boothe, Michael L. Posey, Paul Murray Swilley and Richard White. (The El Dorado Times - September 14, 1964)
