BOWEN, H.H. - Mr. H.H. Bowen of this city died at Springfield, Mo. on last Friday while on his way home from Colorado Springs where he had gone a short while since in search of health. Mr. Bowen has been a resident among us only a few years but had gained many friends through the sterling worth of his character. The funeral party was met at Rogers on Saturday morning by G.P. Jackson and T.M. Wyatt of this place. The funeral service took place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the M.E. Church, South conducted by Rev. H. Hanesworth and F.S.H. Johnston and interment followed in City cemetery under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge of this city. The deceased came to this county about two years ago in search of health from Mississippi county. He owned a large plantation in Mississippi county. He was 49 years and 6 months old. The Democrat tenders sympathy to the bereaved wife and two boys who are left to mourn their loss.
