BOWEN, Maude E. - Miss Maude E. Bowen, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Bowen of this city, died on Monday, July 20th, 1903 at Fort Smith where she had gone, accompanied by her mother, to undergo an operation. Miss Bowen was born in Marion County, Iowa on the 7th day of April 1881 and moved here with her parents several years ago. She has been a member of the M.E. Church, South for a number of years and although she had been ill for about three years previous to her death, she never complained. Her remains were brought to Bentonville Tuesday morning and taken to the family residence. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R.M. Traylor at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon after which the remains were interred in the K. of P. cemetery. The community extends through The Democrat their sincere condolence to the bereaved family.
