WARDLOW, Will - Will Wardlow died last Saturday night at the home of his father, Ira Wardlow, two miles from Brightwater. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon at two o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Seamster. The body was interred in the family burying ground. The news of Mr. Wardlow's death was a great surprise and shock to his friends all over Benton county for only a very few of them knew he had returned from California where he had been for the past year or so. He came home about three weeks ago and the weather has been so bad since then that he had been unable to get out. His death was caused by tuberculosis of the bowels, from which he had been suffering for some time. It was not known, however, that the disease had reached so dangerous a stage and his sudden death was a severe shock to the family. Friday night he complained of not feeling so well as usual and Saturday morning said he believed he could not get up. By noon he was failing rapidly and death came that night. Mr. Wardlow is well known to most of our people as he was in the Academy here four years, graduating in the class of 1902. He was one of the most popular students in the school, always good natured, polite and a thorough student. After graduating here he entered a business college at Kansas City and studied shorthand and bookkeeping, working at that profession ever since. He was connected with the Kansas City branch of the International School of Correspondence for a year or so. A little over a year ago he went to California and worked at San Francisco and several other places. Mr. Wardlow was a nephew of Mrs. John W. Puckett of Rogers and a cousin of W.A. Wardlow, west of town. He was a brother of Alonzo and Miss Eunice Wardlow who are attending school here this year. The Democrat joins with the many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
