BELLA VISTA — Fred Harvey Reese Jr., age 90, of Bella Vista, Ark., died April 28, 2019. He was born in Fort Smith to Fred and Orpha Reese on Oct. 29, 1928.
Fred lived in the Hiwasse community until his 16th birthday, then moved to Greeley, Colo., where he eventually started his trucking company, Valley Feed & Provision. After retiring, he moved with his wife to Rio Verde, Ariz., where they lived for 14 years. There he volunteered as an EMT, sheriffs deputy and played golf. He went on snake hunts and made vests, belts, and headbands for hats and purses.
In 1996, they moved back to Bella Vista, Ark., where he became a member of the Bella Vista Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed golfing, scuba diving, climbing trees and cutting them down to the ground for himself, neighbors and friends until the age of 86.
Fred was preceded in death by sisters Thelma and Freda and sons Bobby and Danny.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara; children Janet of Beaverton, Ore., David of Boulder, Colo., and Fred of Denver, Colo.; stepchildren Deborah of Gravette, Ark., Roger of Goodman, Mo., and Jenee of Pineville, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services following at 2. p.m., Friday, May 3, at Bella Vista Assembly of God, 1771 Forest Hills Blvd, Bella Vista. Burial will be at Daniels Cemetery in Gravette. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bella Vista Assembly of God missions. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory. BELLA VISTA— Barbara Dean Reese, 89, of Bella Vista, Ark., passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Circle of Life-Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. She was born March 15, 1930, in Webb City, Mo., to Birl Belgium Bennett and Edith Weaver.
Barbara was a homemaker, farmer, beautician, seamstress and artist. She taught art and authored a book on art. She and her husband of 49 years, Fred H. Reese, enjoyed golf, traveling and helping with many charities. Barbara attended Bella Vista Assembly of God Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Reese, Junior; two brothers, Richard Damron and Donald Damron; two stepsons, Bobby and Danny Reese.
She is survived by three children, Deboarah Lynn Johnson (Wayne), Roger Clayton Wardlaw (Michelle) and Freda Jenee Wardlaw; three stepchildren, Janet Risch, David Reese and Fred Reese III; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey Mattney and Patricia Barker.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Bella Vista Assembly of God Church, a gathering of friends and family will be held from 12:30 p.m. till 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Daniels Cemetery in Gravette, Ark.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice 1201 N.E. Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, Ark. 72712. Online condolences may be made at www.funeralmation.com.
