Augustus Hill, 60, of Hamburg died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Ashley County Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Hamburg, he was retired from the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of Blue Buck Hunting Club. He was a life subscribing member of the NAACP.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda Hill; three daughters, Kymara Seals and husband Rodney and Kenetta Ridgell and husband Michael, all of Pine Bluff, and Michelle Richards and husband Robert of Monroe, LA; two brothers, Jack Hill of Hamburg and James Hill of Crossett; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Augustus and Alice Elizabeth Hill; and two brothers, Eugene Hill Jr. and Bobby Gene Hill.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 29, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. W. R. Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 28, from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Terry Gilbert, Lawrence Booker, Larry Tippie, James Prewitt, William Scates and Robert Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Blue Buck Hunting Club, deacons and trustees of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and members of the T. W. Daniel High School Class of 1964.
