Trudie Mae McCann Evans, 85, of Thornton, died Monday July 18, 2005 in the Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. Mrs. Evans was born in Woodberry, AR, on April 16, 1920 to the late Birdie & Bessie Mae Ellis McCann. Mrs. Evans was a retired inspector for the International Paper Co., and a member of the Bearden Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Landell Evans of Thornton, AR; a daughter, Bess Evans Womack of El Dorado, AR; two brothers, Doyce McCann of Thornton, Winnon McCann of Thornton; four sisters, Neberline Porter of Fayetteville, TN, Lanette Evans of Locust Bayou, Faye Grant of Thornton, Jaunice Steiger of Thornton; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow W. Evans, and a son, Jerry Evans. Funeral services will be in New Hope Cemetery in Woodberry, AR, with the Rev. Kenny Walters, and Rev. LeRoy Jones officiating. The family will recieve friends from 6:00 until 9:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangement are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
