Fordyce - George Winfred Evans, 56, of Bearden, died Thursday at Dallas County Hospital here.
Born September 7, 1935, at Calhoun County, he was a son of Dollie Evans of Bearden and the late Herman Evans, Sr.
He was a production worker at the Defense Company at East Camden. He was a member of South Side Baptist Church at Fordyce and Mason Lodge 271.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Louise Walthall Evans of Bearden; three brothers, James Hervey Evans, Doyle Patterson and Herman Ray Evans, Jr. all of Bearden; four sisters, Elizabeth Howard Nash and Kathy Morgan, both of Bearden, and Geneva Graham of Thornton and Charlotte Bradbury of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Waymon Evans, and two sisters, Chloe Evans Patterson and Reba Diane Evans.
Funeral services were scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce with the Revs. Charles Jones and Franklin Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery at Bearden.
