THOMPSON, R.M. - Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Sept. 29th for the Rev. R.M. Thompson of Rogers who passed away the day before after an illness of several weeks. He had only celebrated his 90th birthday September 12th. Dr. Oscar Ingold, pastor of the Christian Church of Rogers, conducted the services while Dr. G.W. Martin gave a brief history of Rev. Thompson's life. Burial was made in the Rogers cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born in Maysville, Ky. Sept. 12th, 1842 and was a minister in Kentucky, Ohio and other states for more than 50 years. About 25 years ago he moved to Rogers where he has since made his home. For many years he preached at the Rogers church and other churches nearby. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cabinette Thomas Thompson and his sons, Robert and Paul Thompson.
