STEWART, Jerusha Celia - Mrs. Jerusha Celia Stewart died Sunday, July 19th at her home at 212 North Eighth street at the age of 83 years and one month. Mrs. Stewart had been in poor health for some time but the immediate cause of her death was a stroke of paralysis suffered a week ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and the funeral was held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ben. H. Moore. Burial was in the Rogers cemetery by the side of her husband, H.C. Stewart, who died here December 6, 1912. Mrs. Stewart was born at Westfield, Chautauqua county, New York June 19, 1842. She was married to Henry Clay Stewart November 7, 1860 at New Oregon, Iowa. Two children, a daughter, Jessie, who died here November 7, 1903 and a son, W.H. Stewart, who has lived here with his mother for the last six years, were born to them. A granddaughter, Mrs. Ruth C. Price, of Pharr, Texas was raised in the home of her grandparents and has been with her for several months past. Another grandchild, Lloyd E. Stewart, lives in Minneapolis. H.C. Stewart and wife came to Rogers in 1894 and for a number of years lived on their farm just southwest of town. After the death of her husband in 1912 Mrs. Stewart bought the home on North Eighth where she died.
