LEWIS, Nathaniel Z. - Nathaniel Z. Lewis was born Dec. 28, 1837 at Susquehanna, Penn.; died at the home of his son May 7, 1918, aged 80 years, 4 months and 12 days. At the age of 16 he moved to Illinois with his parents; there he was converted and became a worker for the Master. At about 25 years of age he went to Boone Co., Iowa and two years later married Phoebe Westbrook. Six children were born to the union, one of which survives him, C.N. Lewis of this community. He and companion took care to bring their children up in nurture and admonition of the Lord and all united with the church at an early age. His wife died 10 years ago, since when he lived with his son. He lived in Kansas about 40 years, coming to Arkansas four years ago. He leaves a brother and sister, Sarah and Ira Lewis, at McAlister, Kan. and a brother, A.C. Lewis, at San Jose, Calif. Rev. T.F. Jones conducted the funeral.
