John Maxwell, aged 42 years, died at the family residence 5 and one half miles north east of Bentonville Saturday. He leaves a wife and three children and father, Leander Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell was born and raised in Benton County and when he died he lived in a quarter of a mile from where he was born. He was a brother of Mrs. I.C. Casey and W.T. Maxwell of Little Rock.

{from Pea Ridge} John Maxwell, living 3 miles southwest of town, died Saturday of tuberculosis and heart trouble. He has been a long, patient sufferer. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carnahan of Bentonville Sunday at the home and burial was made in the Hickman cemetery. A large number of friends were present to pay their respects to him. A wife, two daughters and a son are left to mourn his loss, besides many relatives and friends.
