MAXWELL, Gertie - Miss Gertie Maxwell, a popular and well known young lady of Gentry, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mollie Maxwell, Monday of influenza. She was about thirty years of age. Impressive funeral services were held Thursday and she was buried in the local cemetery. Besides a mother she leaves three brothers, Tom Maxwell of Gentry, Charles Maxwell of Highfill and John Maxwell who is in Wyoming. Also two sisters, Mrs. John Richardson of Gentry and a sister who lives near Iron Mountain, Mo.

(from Gentry) Miss Edith Ward was called home from Bernice, Okla. where she is teaching school, to attend the funeral of Miss Gertie Maxwell.

Gertie Maxwell was born Dec. 20, 1888. Died March 1, 1920. Age 31 years, 2 months 11 days. When she was but an infant her parents, Rev. and Mrs. J.R. Maxwell, then pastor of the Pea Ridge circuit, had her baptised, Rev. F.S.H. Johnston officiating. In early life she gave her heart to God and joined the Methodist Church of Gentry in which she remained an esteemed member until death. She graduated from the Gentry High School; later graduating from Downing Business College of Kansas City, Mo. To the mother and Tom, together with the sisters and other brothers: Your duty has been faithfully performed. Hers has been a triumphant ending. Look up to Him who doeth all things well.
