White River Current, Calico Rock, Arkansas, September 11, 1980:

Ethel Morvella Neal aged 76 of Brockwell, died in the White River Convalescent Home in Calico Rock on Sept. 5. She was a daughter of W. E. Owens and Mary Florence Ware Owens.

She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and had lived in Izard County 40 years.

Survivors include Amos P. Neal, her husband; one son, William Ray Neal of Sherwood, Ark.; 2 brothers, Jesse and Thurman Owens, both of Washington State; 3 sisters, Eula Taylor of Oklahoma, Cecil Gilstrap and Arsie Combs both of Washington. also 2 grandchildren.

Funeral was held on Sept 8th and burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements were by Howard’s Funeral Home. Ministers Price Lovelace and Leroy Porterfield officiated.

Pallbearers were Roy Teal, Harold Hamley, Garry Owens, Lloyd Yancey, Vernon Neal and Ed Arnold.

[Note: Obitaury indicates that she was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery; however, it appears that she was actually buried in the Oxford Cemetery since she shares a gravestone in the Oxford Cemetery with her husband.]
