Ernie Wayne Neal, son of the late Earskle Neal and Lorene Reid Neal, was born September 6, 1943 in Newburg, Arkansas. He departed this life April 12, 2016 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 6 days. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized in the creek at Newburg at an early age.
He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law: Melda and Jim Phipps of Newburg; one nephew: Steven Phipps of Newburg, one niece: Regina Hughes of Mountain View; 5 great nieces and nephews: Matthew Crozier of Newburg, Travis Phipps of Melbourne, Lindsey Phipps of Melbourne, Faith Hughes of Mountain View and Kendra Farmer of Zion; numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Tom Cone officiating. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: John Smith, Jerry Arnold, Roy Bookout, Ken Smith, Mike Neal and Tim Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers: Winston Roddy, Vernon Roddy, David Younger and Kay Cooper.
