FAYETTEVILLE - Dovie Sue Buchanan of Fayetteville, AR passed on Friday morning March 4, 2011.

She was born on May 31, 1934 in Hazel Valley the daughter of Lonnie B. Nickells Sr. & Mildred Wynn Nickells.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Kent Buchanan of Fayetteville, AR, and five daughters; Jeanette Jones of Phoenix, AZ, Marla & husband Allen Chatter of Herndon, VA, Patricia & husband Roger Walker of Fayetteville, AR, Sandra Simon-Brooks of Fayetteville, AR, Christie Tuggle of Spencer, OK, & Katherine Ford of Fayetteville, AR.; one sister Daphan Drake of TX, Ronnie Nickells of AR, Lonnie Jr. Nickells of AR. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Neila Sue.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. She has 21 grandchildren & 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beard's Funeral Chapel with Dr. Buel Curtis officiating. Burial was at Oak Cemetery.

She had a sister named Betty Nickel that passed away before her and she raised 2 sons, Carlos Duncan Buchanan of Fayetteville AR and Solo Malik Shakuur of Fayetteville AR and raised a grand daughter Cherish Jameal Beeks Chatter of Virginia.
