Thomas Buchanan Sr.

SPRINGDALE — Thomas G. "Tom" Buchanan Sr., 87, of Springdale died May 11, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 18, 1918, in Prescott to Vern and Annie McKinnon Buchanan. He was an Army veteran, a farmer, and was a retired manager from Springdale Lumber Co. in Springdale. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Gettig.

Survivors include his wife, Neva Eidson Buchanan of the home, to whom he was married Nov. 26, 1938; two sons, Tom Buchanan Jr. and wife Lois of Springdale and Kenneth Buchanan and wife Karen of Dover; one daughter, Marilyn Horn and husband Derl of Springdale; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Springdale with Steve Denton and Peter Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Buchanan, John Krentz, Jon Forst, Tom Buchanan III, Chris Horn, Peter Marshall and Steve Denton.

Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today at Sisco Chapel in Springdale. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m.
