Son of Thomas and Jenny Neely Buchanan
Born KY
Died Cane Hill AR
Husband of Naomi
Historical Note: The Isaac and Naomi Buchanan family suffered great losses during the Civil War. They had six sons in the Confederate Army. Three of whom died on the same day in February 1864. They were purportedly hung by Union soldiers. They were Pleasant, James and William, and they share a triple headstone near where their father is buried. Isaac was shot in the back in 1863, and their home was burned after Isaac gave food to Pin Indians. Naomi and Isaac were charter members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Cane Hill, which still stands today.
