Gordon Leo Shook, 81, of Decatur, died July 20, 2009, at New Hope Health Center in Rogers. He was born March 21, 1928, near Decatur, the son of Samuel Lee and Beulah Rice Shook.

He graduated from graduated from Decatur High School in 1946. He was a farmer and lifelong resident of the Decatur area. He was a member of Decatur First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathryn Miller Shook; two sons, Johnny Lee Shook of Decatur and Gordon Shook of Streamwood, IL; two daughters, Katheryn Moore of Hillsboro, TX, and Verla Martinec and husband Bob of Camden, AR; five sisters, Dorothy McClary of Owasso, OK, Virgie Franks of Hiwasse, Neva Franks of Huntsville and Betty Daharsh and Norman Wilmoth, both of Decatur; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be July 23 at 10 a.m. at Wasson Chapel in Siloam Springs with Rev. Buddy Ammerman officiating. Private burial.

Katheryn Luella Shook, 93, of Decatur, died June 23, 2021, in Siloam Springs.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1927, in Decatur, to Flay Miller and Emma Trook Miller. She graduated from Decatur High School and then the University of Arkansas, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education. She worked as a school teacher for 38 years, serving in Sulphur Springs, Gravette and Decatur. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gordon "Leo" Shook; sister, Lila Addington; and her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Shook of Decatur, and Ed Shook of Decatur; two daughters, Katheryn Moore of Hillsboro, Texas, and Verla Martinec and husband Bob of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Sunday June 27, at Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, with Pastor Terry Horton officiating. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.wassonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
