Joseph Linn was born 18 Feb 1873 in Montgomery Co., Texas and died on 10 Jun 1946 in Poinsett Co., Arkansas [probably in Weiner]. He was the son of Robert Linn (1847-1892) and Catherine HYSAW (1848-1905) - Robert and Catherine Linn are buried in Walker Cemetery.
Joseph married Zeannie 'Zena' RAYBOURN (1884-1968) on 19 Apr 1900 in Weiner. They had three daughters: Bessie (1901-1968), Nora Irene (1906-1986), and Gracie Linn (1907-1907).
They are listed on the 1900 census living in Dobson, Poinsett Co., Arkansas and in Mercur, Tooele Co., Utah on the 1910 census. They are back in Poinsett Co. by 12 Sept 1918 when Joseph fills out his World War I draft registration card. In 1920 they are in Dobson and in 1930 in Weiner.
Joseph was born in Texas because his father, Robert, had taken Joseph's mother, Catherine to Texas from Greene Co., Missouri to help with health issues she was experiencing. After about 9 to 10 years, Catherine was feeling better so the Linn's headed back for Illinois where Robert had spent time as a boy. However, when he got to Weiner, he heard about opportunities for logging and he stopped and stayed in Weiner buying up thousands of acres to cut timber and he started two sawmills. Unfortunately, Robert was killed in a logging accident in 1892, but most of the Linn's continued to live in Weiner.
