According to our father, Robert B. Linn, Jr., when his father, Robert, was a young man, he and his brothers Willie and Joe went west to Utah to work in either a mine or a steel mill. While there, Robert also worked on the railroad and as a ranch hand [Willie and Joe probably did this, too]. On the way back to Arkansas, Robert stopped at a ranch in Oklahoma that belonged to a relative (I believe another Linn family member). While working on the ranch, he fell on a stump and hurt himself which gave him problems later in life. Robert felt that this injury contributed to his having cancer when he was older - not sure how, but that's what he believed. At some point in his journey - either in Utah or somewhere between Arkansas [his home] and Utah, Robert also broke wild mustangs. He told my dad that he had to be careful when doing this because the snow would drift on cliff edges and if they weren't careful, either they and/or the horses could go over the cliffs.
