Two Deaths From Diphtheria
Prevalence of diptheria in the vicinity of Old Joe resulted in two deaths.
On Monday, Janurary 15, L.D. aged 3 year and 10 months son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lawson died form diptheria. Funeral services were held at Galatia conducted by Rev. E.T. Baker of Norfork.
Betty Jane Griffith aged 3 years and 10 months youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. H.G, Griffin fell victim of the dreaded disease and died Thursday, the 19th. Funeral sevices were held at Galatia and conducted by Rev. E.T. Baker.
(The death dates on the stone and the obit of L.Dee Lawson do not agree.)
