James Edward Tilley, 58, of Flippin, passed away Monday, April 25, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Tilley was born June 27, 1946, in Arkana to Frank and Maxcine Harris Tilley. He retired after 21 years in the US Navy, served mostly on submarines. Later he worked as a machinist for Micro Plastics. He enjoyed family, fishing, and writing poetry and stories about his family and life's events.
Mr. Tilley is survived by his mother, Maxcine; two daughters, Sandra (Brandon Franks)Tilley and Sharon (Mark) Martin; one son John Tilley; four sisters, Anita (Junior) Trivitt, Lillie (Ottis) Dean, Irene (Dennis) Farris and Anna Tilley; five brothers, Dale Tilley, Frank (Hettie)Tilley, Amon (Kathy) Tilley, Lonnie (Kathi) Tillie, and Bobby Tilley; three grandchildren, Rachel, Joshua and Rebecca Martin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank and two brothers, Lewis and Beaver.
He is loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation will be noon-9PM today at Roller Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends 6-8PM.
A funeral will be 2PM Wednesday at old Galatia Church. Burial will follow at Galatia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Baxter County Relay for Life.
