{from Garfield) Died Monday morning at 1:30 o’clock, Mr. Al Hays. He had been afflicted with rheumatism for about 25 years and lately it appeared to have gone to his stomach and he suffered very severely that night and apparently it went to his heart. Deceased was a native of Tennessee but had removed to this state many years ago and had held the office of post master prior to the present one. Funeral services will be Tuesday and will be conducted by Rev. F.M. Seamster at Buttram’s Chapel. We all join in offering our sympathy to the bereaved family. Mr. Hays was 61 years old and is survived by a wife and four children - Theo and G.M. of this place and Albert and Grover C. who live in Kansas. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters - J.P. Hays, Pea Ridge; Tom Hays, Ft. Smith; Virgil Hays, Brightwater; M. Hays of Rogers; Mrs. G.C. Rider and Mrs. H.C. Rogers.
