ROGERS — William "Bill" Cook, age 77, of Rogers died Dec. 24, 2010, at his home. He was born at South Bend, Ind., on April 17, 1933, to the late Claude and Helen (Hennion) Cook.

Bill served his country in the U.S. Army, and worked as a research chemist. Later, he went to Pitney Bowes where he was an IT specialist. He retired from there in the early 1990s. On Dec. 12, 1976, he was ordained to the Diaconate in the Roman Catholic Church. He was part of the St. Vincent de Paul Church family where he was active with the building committee, and loved preaching and teaching adults in the ways of the Church in the RCIA class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife, Beatrice Cook, who died in 1998.

Survivors include his children, George Cook and wife Bonnie of North Bangor, Penn., Renee Cook of Rogers; siblings, C. Joe Cook of Illinois, George Cook of Idaho, and Judy Oleska of Ohio; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation and rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor David LeSieur and the Rev. Shawn Wesley. Cremation will follow.

The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center of the Poconos, 118 North 8th St., Stroudsburg, PA 18360, or online at www.pregnancytalk.org.
