Former Best Merchant Dies in Little Rock Hospital
Rogers, Feb. 11 -- Samuel Cook, 82, a merchant at Best near Clifty, for 40 years, died at a Little Rock hospital Saturday night.
The body was returned to Rogers Sunday night in a Bryant ambulance. Funeral service will be held in the War Eagle cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Bryant Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cook had spent most of his life in the War Vita Eagle-Clifty vicinity and engaged in cattle buying and retailing merchandise.
He is survived by a son, O.V. Cook of San Bernardino, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Vita Turner of Moberly, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bell Cook, wife of Sam Cook of Rock, died early Saturday morning, after a lingering illness, and her remains were interred at War Eagle Sunday afternoon. She is survived by her husband; four children, Ward of Wichita, Kans., Garland of War Eagle, Mrs. Vista Turner of Missouri and Mrs. Myrtie Stafford of Rock, thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to which the community extends condolence.
