{from The Little Rock Optic} All the family at this Institution {a school for the deaf. Ed.} were saddened to learn by a letter from Fred Cook that his father was dead. Mr. Cook has been the friend of this school for years, Fred, his youngest son, having been a pupil here, whenever his health would permit, since 1882. We had heard that he was sick but were not prepared to hear of his death. He was for a long time a prominent merchant of Champagnolle but for the last few years had lived at Bentonville. He died on March 24th, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, in his sixty-third year. He was one of those energetic, kind-hearted business men whose death always leaves a place very hard to fill, a member of the Baptist church, a good husband and a kind, father. May he rest in peace.
