Christeen Eagan Whitmire McCormic

STRAWBERRY — Christeen McCormic, 91, of Strawberry passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Lawrence County Hospital.

Born Feb. 12, 1918, at Strawberry, the daughter of John and Leona Wilson Eagan, she was a housewife and a member of the
Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Boyd Whitmire and Neil McCormic; children, Nina Warnick, Joe Whitmire, Ruby
Freer and Buddy Whitmire; one grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include children, Dizzy (Pat) Whitmire, Lavan (Don) Nicholas and Wilma Veteto, all of Walnut Ridge, Bob (Barbara)
Whitmire and Chuck (Geneta) Whitmire, all of Hoxie; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two daughter-in-laws, Laveta Whitmire of Springfield, Mo., and Sue Whitmire of Walnut Ridge; a son-in-law, Danny Freer of Walnut Ridge; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Eagan of Kansas City.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Bryan Chapel. Interment will be in the Ward Cemetery near Strawberry under the direction of the Bryan Funeral Home of Hoxie.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Grandsons will act as pallbearers.
