Bobby Carroll Whitmire the son of Joseph Boyd "Joe Boyd" Whitmire and Christeen (Eagan) Whitmire. Barbara Ann (Barnett) Howard Whitmire the daughter of John Burl Barnett and Mary Louise Barnett.

Bobby Caroll Whitmire, 78 of Powhatan passed away June 18, 2017 at his residence.

Born January 25, 1939 in Strawberry to the late Boyd and Christine Eagan Whitmire. He was a farmer, owner and operator of W.D. Farm Supply and the Old Hickory Motel; and he was of Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by two sisters, Ruby Freer and Nina Warnick; and two brothers, Joe and Buddy Whitmire.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Barnett Whitmire of the home; one son, Richard (Kelley) Whitmire of Hoxie; one daughter, LuAnne (Sammy) Blevins of Lynn; four grandchildren, Christopher (Lori) Blevins, Samantha (Thomas) Bergeron, Caroline and Emma Whitmire; one great-granddaughter, Harper Blevins and one on the way, Olivia; two brothers, Dizzy and Chuck Whitmire; two sisters, Lavan Nicholas and Wilma Veteto; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Bryan Chapel. Pallbearers will be Roy Mullen, Mitch Whitmire, Terry Davis, Terry, Billy, and David Doyle. Interment will follow in the Ward Cemetery in Strawberry.

Visitation will be from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M. Wednesday evening.
