Mrs. Julia Agnes Lane, 83, of Norfork, a lifetime resident of this area, died Sunday at Baxter General Hospital. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and the widow of the late John Arthur Lane.
Born Jul 20, 1890, at Iuka (Izard County), Mrs. Lane was the daughter of Roy and Mary Spears Gray. She was married in 1905. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were two of the couples's nine children, Joe and Violet.
Surviving are two sons, Cecil of Kansas City, MO and J.A. of Norfork; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Hendrix and Mrs. Goldie Harder both of Norfork, Mrs. Irene Brown of Inglewood, CA, Mrs. Audrey Cunningham of Independence, MO and Mrs. Cleo Johnson of Versailles, MO; a brother, Joe Gray of the Buford community; 29 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and 61 great great grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 2PM today (Thursday) at the Galatia Methodist Church, east of Norfork, with Rev. Walter W. Fox of Norfork officiating. Interment will be in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Howard Brown, Mike Brown, John Brown, Elmer Rosen, L.J. Rosson and Howard Rosson.
