John Arthur Lane, 53, died Monday, May 19, 1941. He was born August 12, 1887, to James Ambrose Lane and Nancy Mildred Maddox Lane. He married Julia Agnes Gray in Izard County on October 5, 1904. Mr. Lane had lived in the Norfork area for around 38 years.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Agnes Lane; two sons, Cecil Lane and J.A. 'Jay' lane; six dauthers, Mary Bradshaw, Goldie Thompson, Cleo Johnson, Irene Gray, Audrey Ritter and Lola Lane; two brothers, Harrison Lane and Leonard Lane; and two sister, Emma Lawson and Minnie Rosson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joseph Theodore 'Joe' Lane and one sister Mabel Purl.
Funeral services were conducted at the Galatia Chruch near Norfork with burial in the Galati Cemetery.
