Nellie S. Taylor, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother was called home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2021. Nell was born on December 15, 1933, to Otis A. and Lois Thurmon Simmons. She married the love of her life, J. T. Taylor, on June 15, 1951, and recently celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary.
A long-time Dallas Cowboys fan, Nell was always ready for a spur of the moment shopping adventure to Dallas, as she loved to travel. Her greatest joy was traveling to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and other activities, which she enjoyed well into her 80's. She always took great comfort in her faith in God, and she will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, J. T. Taylor; daughters Patty Pesnell and husband Danny; Deena Burch and husband Brad; grandchildren Kristy Campbell and husband Luke, Dan Pesnell and wife Amanda, Taylor Burch and wife Hannah, Ashton Burch and Amanda Burch; great-grandchildren Mallory Pesnell, Maggie Pesnell, Barrett Campbell, and Maddox Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis A. and Lois Simmons, as well as nine siblings: Lawrence Bruce Simmons, Ernest Neal Simmons, Hugh Aubrey Simmons, Jerry Cecil Alden Simmons, Joe E. Simmons, Allen F. Simmons, Loyd Arthur Simmons, Elsie Simmons McMillon, and Clara Mae Simmons Lewis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church of Haynesville, the First Baptist Church of Haynesville, or the Alzheimer's Association.
