July 17, 1973 - July 18, 2019
David "Neal" Taylor, age 46, was born on July 17, 1973 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He passed away at home in Haynesville, Louisiana on July 18, 2019 after a lengthy but hard fought battle with brain cancer. He was the loving husband of Michele Packer Taylor and the proud daddy of Shelby and Katie Taylor.
Neal was known for his quick wit and love of German shepherds. He loved to fish and hunt and spent many quality hours with his wife and daughters in a boat or on a deer stand. During high school, Neal went straight to work in the family business, JW Taylor and Sons, and eventually he and his wife branched out to begin M and N Taylor Logging and Neal Taylor Trucking.
Neal was preceded in death by his father, David Wymon Taylor and his father in law, James Hardy Packer, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Michele Packer Taylor and their two daughters Shelby Taylor and Katie Taylor, also Shelby's special friend, Hunter Sandlin; his mother Melba Jean Taylor of Haynesville, LA his two mother-in- laws, Marilyn Arthur of Shongaloo, LA, and Barbara Packer of Leesville, LA; sisters Cheryl Taylor of Haynesville, LA and Sherry Misenheimer, husband Alan of Benton, LA; brother- in-law, Bryan Packer of Leesville, LA; sister-in-law, Alicia Kemp of Alabama, special cousins Dean Lento of Haynesville, LA and Matt Young, wife Lynn, of Magnolia, AR and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be David Jones, Brandon Misenheimer, Hayden Johnson, CW Young, Todd Taylor, Brian Elsner, and Jordan Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Simpson and Chris Winzer.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Haynesville, 2021 Main Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Haynesville, LA with Rev. Jeff Tinsley and Rev. Gary Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the at the Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Haynesville, LA
Special thanks go out to all of Neal's caregivers from Regional Hospice Care of NW Louisiana and Heritage Nursing Home of Haynesville during his very brief visit.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the charity of donor's choice.
