Mary Marguerite Smith, 94, of Hamburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior in her forever home, Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Mrs. Smith was a native of Hamburg, a resident of Hamburg for most of her life and a resident of Little Rock for the past 8 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. Her long life was one of faithfulness to her Lord, steadfast love for her family and service to others.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Aubrey Smith, Sr. in 1965; a precious granddaughter, Lyndsay Barnett Meyer; her parents, Thomas Zealy & Della Mae Chadwick Martin; a sister, Dorothy Jordan and two brothers, Claudell Martin and Gerald Martin.

She is survived by a son, Bruce Smith and wife, Veda, of Little Rock; a daughter, Marsha Barnett and husband, Willard, of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jonathan Smith and wife, Mary of Little Rock, Benjamin Bruce Smith and wife, Megan of Edmond, Oklahoma, Hannah Smith of Little Rock and David Meyer, husband of the late Lyndsay Meyer of Edmond, Oklahoma, four great-grandchildren, Isabella Meyer, Caleb Smith, Joshua Smith, and soon to be born Elijah Bruce Smith. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy in her life.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Private burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Baptist Home for Children, P.O. Box 427, Monticello, AR 71657, First Baptist Church of Hamburg, P.O. Box 352, Hamburg, AR 71646, or First Baptist Church of Little Rock, 62 Pleasant Valley Dr, Little Rock, AR 72212.
