Mary Blanche Smith, 66, of Crossett died Monday, November 18, 2002, at her residence in the Cooter community. A native of Hamburg and Crossett resident for the past 47 years, She was a homemaker and a member of Community Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, James William "Billy" Smith; one son, James Scott of Crossett; one daughter, Kristie Smith Carpenter of Chester, SC; her mother, Geneva King of Hamburg; two brothers, Bruce and Reggie King, both of Hamburg; six sisters, Barbara Woods, Dixie Fairchild and Susan Savage, all of Hamburg, Patti Griffith of Fountain Hill and Peggy Woods and Nancy Barnett, both of Crossett; and six grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Smith, both of Ringgold, LA, Chase Smith of Crossett and Melanie, Kayla and Devin Carpenter, all of Chester.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Benjamin King; one brother, Billy Wayne King; and one sister, Vicky Denise King. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Dan Webb officiating. Burial will be at Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Carpenter, Doug Maxwell, James Ricks, Phillip Jones, Dale Maxwell, Luke Clark, Tracy Childress and Max Brooks.
