James H. Brown, 84, of Muldrow passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, in Fort Smith. He was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Lavaca to John Martin Brown and Virgelon Estelle Powers Brown. He was the retired owner and distributor for the Sun Oil Company for over 31 years. He was a member of the Muldrow Nazarene Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Henry "T.H." Brown and Hunter Guston Brown; and his sister Ellen Cole. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Brown of Muldrow; three daughters, Emma Lee Garrett of Muldrow, Dianna and her husband, Jerry Kelly of Fort Smith, and Carol Ann and her husband, Ron Bly of Tulsa; one sister, Elizabeth Bugg Edwards of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Monica Will of Roland, Michelle and her husband, Perry Humphrey of Huntington, Melissa Bly of Tulsa, Chandler Garrett and his wife, Lynnette of Fort Smith, Chasen Garrett and his wife, Ana Maria Romo Garrett of Muldrow; four great-grandchildren, Brennan and Rachel Will of Roland, and Audrey and Ashton Garrett of Fort Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Hardin, the Rev. Paul Strang, the Rev. Lynn Strang, Chandler Garrett, Chasen Garrett, Brennan Will, Delmar "Butch" Edwards, and Jim R. Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers will be the senior men's Sunday school class of the Muldrow Nazarene Church.

January 11, 1922 - November 29, 2015

Clarice Maxine Strang Brown, 93, of Roland, OK, formerly of Lavaca, AR passed away peacefully on November 29, 2015 at Fianna Hills Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
She was born January 11, 1922 in Union, AR to Ernest Edgar Strang and Roxie Annie Ethyl (Hudson) Strang.

She was married to James H. Brown who preceded her in death, for 63 years. Both were devoted members of the Church of the Nazarene in Muldrow, OK. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Aline Strang Fuller, and two brothers, Ernest Strang Jr. and Robert Strang.

Maxine is survived by three daughters, Emma Lee Garrett of Roland, OK, Dianna Kelly, who was also her caregiver, and her husband, Jerry of Fort Smith, and Carol Ann Bly and her husband Ronald, of Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughters, Monica Boyd Eiland and her husband Jimmy of Fort Smith, Michelle Humphrey and her husband Perry of Huntington, AR, and Melissa Thrasher of Broken Arrow, OK; grandsons, Chandler Garrett and his wife Rebecca of Fort Smith, and Chasen Garrett and his wife Ana-Maria Romo Garrett of Roland, OK; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; brothers, James Strang and his wife Romalee of Lavaca, Harley Strang and his wife Norma of Fort Smith, Bill Strang and his wife Freda of Uniontown, AR; sisters, Exine Bellamy of Round Rock, TX, Nadine Hardin- Miller and her husband Bob of Fort Smith, Gelene Woody and her husband Harold Lee of Sherman, TX, Ernestine Cuthbert and her husband Tom of Greenwood, AR, and Earlene Gillson of Fort Smith; a dear sister-in-law, Shirley Strang of Austin, TX and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
