Robert Lee Brown, 104, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2021 at a local nursing home.
He was born May 12, 1917 in Coal Hill, Arkansas to the late Clyde and Cora (Hendrix) Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ella Mae (Green) Brown, five siblings and one great-granddaughter, Amanda Leigh Thomas.

He is survived by two daughters, Jo Ella Lewison (Don) and Barbara Fowler (Tommy) four grandchildren Julie McDevitt (Gordon), Mara Thomas (Larry), Robyn Fowler and WR Douglas II (Jennifer), three great-granddaughters, two great-great granddaughters and special extended family and friends.

Bob graduated from Coal Hill High School in 1935 and then went to Chicago where he obtained a certificate from Coyne Electrical School in 1936. He acquired the Masters of Electrician later in life. He then came to Ft Smith where he was employed by R. W. Neishan of Neishan Refrigeration. In 1947 he and a partner bought out Mr. Neishan and by 1950 he bought out his partner. Thus began Bob Brown Heating and Air Company, which he owned and operated until 2013.
Working was Bob's passion, but he loved to dance and did so until age 102.
He was a faithful (and oldest member) of Saint Boniface Catholic Church.

Ella Mae Brown of Fort Smith(Sebastian County), Arkansas, died Friday, May 2, 2008, in a local nursing home. Ms. Brown was 87 years old. She was born in 1921 in Charleston(Franklin County), Arkansas.
Ms. Brown was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; 12 siblings; and one great-granddaughter: Amanda Leigh Thomas.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years: Robert Lee Brown of the home; two daughters: Jo Ella Douglas and her husband, W.R. and Barbara Fowler and her husband, Tommy, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Julie McDevitt, Mara Thomas, Robyn Fowler, and W.R. Douglass II; three precious great-grandchildren: Megan McDevitt, Chandler and Taylor Douglas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rosary was held on Monday, May 5, 2008, at 6:00p.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 10:00a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
