Mary Jo Murphy Wooten, 87, of Strong, AR went to her heavenly home May 18, 2019. She was born February 26, 1932 to the late Lewie and Faye Murphy of Urbana, AR. Mary Jo loved her God, church and family. She was a great cook. Mary Jo owned Wooten Grocery for 37 years.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bootsie; daughter-in-law, Karen Wooten; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include sons, Bryant Wooten (Tammy) of El Dorado, Greg Wooten (Theresa) of Strong; two grandchildren, Nolana Farrar (Chris) and Blake Wooten; two great-grandchildren, Brendon Farrar and Makaila Farrar and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Strong Assembly of God, 210 Willow Street, in Strong, AR. Funeral will follow at 2:00 pm with Brother Blake Wooten and Brother Terry Burke officiating. Interment will be at Green Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hale, Brendon Farrar, Cody Hale, O’neil Wooten, Casey Wooten and Terry Laster.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Strong Assembly of God, P.O. Box 267, Strong, AR.
