James Lavon Wooten, 63 of El Dorado, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014. He was born May 9, 1951 in Strong, AR.

He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in El Dorado for 25 years and was a member of Green Grove Assembly of God Church.

James is preceded in death by his father, James Aubrey Wooten.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Ethel Frisby Wooten; daughters, Kimberly Wooten of Concord, NC, Michelle Groshong (David) of El Dorado, AR, Amanda Anderson of Concord, NC, Terra Matthews of Farmerville, LA; a son, Jamie Wooten (Jeannie Murphy) of Georgetown, TX; brothers, Roger Wooten (Jean) of Mountain View, AR, Thomas Wooten (Gwen) of El Dorado, Bobby Wooten (Anne) of Pollard, AR; sister, Debbie Sehon (David) of Magnolia; the mother of his children and a life-long best friend, Sheila Bacon of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Davec Flournoy of El Dorado, Zillia Wooten of El Dorado, Deanna Anderson of Concord, NC, Isabella Funkhouser of Georgetown, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. tonight at Young's.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014, at Green Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Paul Purifoy officiating. Burial will follow at Green Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
