GOULD, Elizabeth Ann PATTON - Died, Feb. 2nd, 1905 at her home near Rogers, Arkansas, Elizabeth Ann Gould, age 62 years, 6 months and 8 days. The deceased was born in Sevier County, East Tenn., July 26th, 1842. She moved with her mother and the family from Tenn. to Pea Ridge, Benton county, Ark. in 1860. November 12th, 1867 she was married to W.E. Gould. To this happy union were born 7 children, 6 of whom still survive her and were present with her in the last sad hour and all shared together deeply the bitter cup of sorrow. She professed religion and united with the C.P. Church in 1868 which relation she still sustained at the time of her death. It was my good fortune to have known Sister Gould for the last thirty-six years of her christian life. She possessed what she professed, the mind and the spirit of the blessed Christ. Her smiling face, her kind loving heart, and her willing hands, as she pursued the business of life and the duties of religion, told very plainly that she "had been with Jesus." It was always a source of pleasure to be in her company, you felt the better for it, but in her own happy home and family, you were made to enjoy in the sublimest sense her kind hospitality. The funeral service at the home, notwithstanding the very inclement weather, was well attended by kind and sympathizing friends and neighbors who came to weep with those who wept and to bear with them as far as possible the burden of their sorrow. The remains were laid away in the Rogers Cemetery, there to await the resurrection morn. May the blessed Lord support by his grace and comfort by his spirit, these dear sorrowing friends. P. Carnahan.
