ROGERS (Special) — Marcus Lafayette Gould, 87, retired Civil Service employe of the Panama Canal, died at his home here yesterday morning after an extended illness.
He was born April 22, 1874, south of Rogers, and lived most of his life in the New Hope Community on land homesteaded by his parents. Survivors are one son, Samuel Marcus of West Minister, Colo.; one brother, John of Dishman, Wash.; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Burns Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Paul Wallace. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.
