Joyce Evelyn Hanry, age 70 of Junction City passed from this life on Monday, January 16, 2012 in West Monroe, La. Joyce was born March 2, 1941 in Junction City to Jewel Benjamin and Lila Martha (Finley) McDonald.
She worked for many years as an office manager for Barnes Lumber Company. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. Other than her family, Joyces passion in life was her music. Any and everyone who knew her knew that she was quite an accomplished pianist. She was the pianist for First United Methodist and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Joyce unselfishly lent her talent whenever called upon, whether at a wedding or a funeral, or just for the enjoyment of the music lovers at the Nursing Homes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Hanry of Junction City, Ar.; two daughters, Brenda Hanry Allen and husband, Ben of West Monroe, La. and Anita Hanry Owens and husband, Jeff of Junction City, Ar.; one sister, Joan Lowery and husband, Tom of Conroe, Tx. ; one brother, Prentis McDonald and wife, Jeri of Santee, SC.; one granddaughter, Leslie Allen Swillie and husband, Cody of West Monroe, La.; two grandsons, Jacob Allen and Fiance Alyssa Chelette of West Monroe, La., Garrett Owens and girlfriend, Molli Ponder of Junction City, Ar.; one great granddaughter, Lila Ann Swillie of West Monroe, La.; one great grandchild on the way and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-8pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.
Graveside services will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City, Ar.
Memorials may be made to Roselawn Cemetery or Charity of donors choice.
