W. L. Williams, aged 83 of Lufkin, Texas formerly of Stephens died in a Lufkin hospital Wednesday. Mr. Williams was a native of Ouachita County, and had lived at Stephens until 1949. He was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lola Hudman Williams; three sons Huron Williams of Lufkin, Texas, Aubrey Williams of Terrell, Texas and Rev. Kelly Williams of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Erma Smith of Pasadena, Texas, Mrs. Doyle Williams of Lufkin, and Mrs. Austin Ross of Camden; three brothers, Bob Williams of Hope, Lonnie Williams of Buena Vista and Harvey Williams of Camden, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Bethesda Church conducted by Rev. Dale Gentry and Rev. M. W. Miller. Burial will be in Bethesda cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. The body will arrive in Camden late this afternoon, and will lie in state at the home of A. L. Ross, 751 Pierce Street until service time. (Camden News - March 23, 1961)
