Glen T. "Ted" Center, 75, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1994, at a Fayetteville hospital.
Born April 19, 1919, at Winslow, a son of Claude R. and Ica O. Robinson Center, he was a retired boiler operator at the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the Arkansas-Boston Mountains Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society and worked on the Frisco Railroad. He was a baseball fan, was a lifetime resident of Northwest Arkansas and served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Sally Ann Smith Center of the home; a daughter Patricia "Patsy" Johnson of Fayetteville; four brothers, Claude "Jack" Center and Lonnie Center, both of Greenland, Robert Center of Fayetteville and James Center of Cedarville, Texas; two sisters, Mildred Shackelford of Fayetteville and Berniece Talley of Springdale; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nelson's Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Pickett officiating. Burial will be in the Brentwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
