Ralph Edward Center, 55, of Winslow, died Wednesday at his home. Born May 15, 1922 at Winslow, the son of Alvis and Sally Jones Center, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and founder and Scoutmaster for troop 106 at Winslow.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Myrtle Center of the home; three sons, Ronald of Wichita, Kan., Rodney of Fort Smith and Jerry of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Pense of Mountainburg; six brothers, Jack of Ashland, Ore., Eugene of Medford, Ore., Calvin of Owasso, Okla., James of Van Buren, Bobby of Winslow and Jerry of Alma; three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Beaver and Mrs. Ruth Nicolas both of Fort Smith and Mrs. Christen Jones of Tulsa and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Nelson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Brentwood Cemetery.

Myrtle Jean Center, 60, of Winslow died Saturday, May 6, 1989, at her home. Born Feb. 9, 1929, at Window, the daughter of Elmer and Mable Louise Smith Griffith, she was a teacher's aide for Winslow schools and a member of Winfrey Valley Tabernacle. She was a former girl scout leader, a Bible School teacher, and had served an the Winslow City Council.

Survivors are three sons, Ronald E. Center of Wichita, Kan., Rodney E. Center of Alma and Jerry D. Center of Pryor, Okla., a daughter, Sharon Pense of Mountainburg; her father of Fayetteville, three brothers, Earl Griffith of Fort Worth, Texas, Paul Griffith of Winslow and Tom Griffith of Lowell; four sisters, Betty S. Chauwker of Springdale, Ruby Bishop of WilkesBarr, Pa., Carol Talley of Winslow and Jeanette Matzell of Fayetteville and eight grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, at Winslow High School gymnasium with burial in Brentwood Cemetery under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Winslow Booster Club.
